Week 5 Post

We got to do our presentation this week! Hooray!

It seemed to go well I think. One of our group members is a really good public speaker and can really entertain a crowd. Our concept is simple enough that everyone understood the purpose of the web app which made the presentation go quickly and easily.

After a quick 5 minute presentation explaining the idea, we sat down and watched the other groups present. Easy day all in all.

Week 3 Post

A lot of the time I tend to dislike "team building" exercises. I feel that at this age if we don't know how to work as a team, any kind of team building exercise probably wont help. It might come across as a very negative way to think but I feel like honesty is the best option with these blogs.

Some team building things can be fun. They can be a fun way to bring some people out of their shell and get people talking. Most however I feel miss this mark and don't really achieve their goals. One of the biggest pros to them can be the amount of fun it can generate in a class room.

The problem comes from the fact that (at least in my experience) about 1/8 have ever worked in the method they were meant to. Most others are alright while you're doing them and just fizzle out directly after they finish. No one learns anything and it proves to be a waste of time in some ways.
